“As a farmboy in ancient Greece, wrestling champion Milo of Croton would daily lift and carry a calf from its birth. As the boy grew, so did the calf, until as an adult Milo was lifting and carrying a bull on his shoulders.”

We feel this legend underlines what our training philosophy is about. We want to create a community where everyone is pushed, challenged and supported on their own personal fitness journey, hitting their goals one step at a time!

Whether you want to compete, lose those pesky pounds, get off medications, wear down the grandkids or just plain look good naked, our all-inclusive, community-based, functional-fitness regimen is the most effective lifestyle transformation to get you to your goals.

Owner / Manager / Coach

After 24 years serving the community in Fire/EMS, Alan decided it was time to hang up the helmet and retire from a Tucson area fire department as a Captain/Paramedic and Union President.

Since 2010, he has been and avid Crossfitter himself and involved in the CrossFit community by supporting his wife, Kare, in her adventures as a CrossFit Masters Competitor. It seemed only natural that they open their own CrossFit affiliate and, in 2016, he and Kare decided to focus all their resources and energy to create the CrossFit gym they had always wanted.

In addition to coaching, Alan programs and supervises the Fire Factory classes where participants take the strength and speed skills they  develop in Crossfit and apply them to task based/team activities using firefighter equipment and modeled after fire academy physical training.

Alan is also a well known, Tucson based filmmaker and his retirement from the fire department affords him the time to balance his passion as a writer/director with his CrossFit enterprise.

A long time health and fitness enthusiast, Logan entered the Personal Trainer Program at Pima Community College in 2008.  After graduating he obtained his personal trainer certification through ACSM and started taking on private clients. Disenchanted with the atmosphere at most gyms, especially the large “LA Fitness” type places, he never pursued those opportunities with the vigor that he had once hoped for. Around this time, he was introduced to CrossFit by a family member and it was transformational. If fact, he still remembers “Cindy” as being the most “humbling twenty minutes of my life”. He was experiencing better results in less time and that just made sense. A year later, he obtained his Level I Crossfit Certification and got in on the ground floor of a new Crossfit gym in Tucson, becoming one of their main coaches.

“I have seen it transform peoples bodies, minds, and lives. High intensity functional fitness builds fitness but it also builds confidence, independence, mental fortitude, camaraderie, and of course community. It teaches you to try hard and test your limits, it can be an opportunity to be mindful and truly in the moment, but it can also provide an escape from the day to day; a pathway to the “flow” state.”

Logan’s goal as a Coach is to help people realize all of these benefits that have made such a difference in his life!

Em’s movement journey began early on through watching their group fitness instructor mother and Ironman triathlete father thrive in the world of fitness. They ran cross-country and track in their teen years before playing rugby for the University of Arizona and other competitive rugby teams all over the west coast for over a decade. In their final years playing rugby, they coached the Tucson Lightning Rugby team in fitness, specifically with a focus on injury prevention, mobility, speed, and endurance.

After being a member for 3 years at Milo Fitness Factory (formerly CrossFit Milo), Em decided to earn their ACE personal training certificate in the hopes of helping their community feel better in gym spaces that have given so much to them. Now, as a personal trainer and coach, they are excited to work with folks who find stereotypical fitness lingo and culture to be exclusive or limiting.

Their movement journey has always been centered around moving better, building resilience, and cultivating mindfulness and continues to be so.

“I’m an automotive painter going to school to be a physical therapist. Although I love painting, I love helping people more. Being in sports most of my life from soccer, baseball, football and track (I even did climbing.bouldering for a few years) CrossFit felt very comfortable to me. In early 2019, I obtained my CrossFit Level 1 and started coaching. This was when I truly fell in love with how CrossFit changed people’s lives from someone who’s never exercised a day in their life to someone looking to move better at an older age. I’m here to help them on their journey. I love gymnastics and weightlifting aspects of CrossFit and will be pursuing additional gymnastics certifications as I continue to develop as a Coach.
I’m easy yo spot. I’m the short guy with the handle bar mustache and I’m willing to talk to anyone! So, let’s get a kick ass workout in and swing on some pull up bars!”

“I stumbled into a CrossFit gym around 2010 and my first hero WOD was Murph. After that, it was a wrap. The sheer amount of grit it took to finish that WOD is what kept me interested. I’ve been athletic all my life. Football, baseball and boxing were my go to sports. Being a Marine, I’m always looking for the next mountain to climb so high intensity functional fitness came naturally for me. I believe when people look at a workout and have doubts about themselves or their ability to finish, that is where I like to work. I became a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer in January 2018 and seeing the transformation from “novice” to “seasoned and able” is what I enjoy most about coaching.”
